Voltrex is the product I reach for when a dog's structural issues go beyond general arthritis. IVDD, cruciate ligament damage, spinal instability, disc disease – these are situations where most supplements aren't really designed to help. Voltrex is.
What makes it genuinely different is the mechanism. Most joint supplements focus on cartilage and synovial fluid. Voltrex works on circulation – specifically restoring blood flow to damaged joints, ligaments and spinal tissue. Without adequate circulation,
tissue can't repair properly, regardless of how many glucosamine capsules you give.
That's the insight behind this formula, and it's why it was developed in collaboration with Dr. Steve Marsden, a well-regarded holistic veterinarian with a background in both Chinese herbal medicine and conventional vet practice.
The ingredient list is a traditional Chinese herbal formula – turmeric, ginseng, bupleurum, scutellaria and others – chosen for their combined effect on circulation, inflammation and tissue healing rather than as individual ingredients.
It works best as part of a broader approach: paired with a fresh food diet, reduced chemical load, and where possible, supportive therapies like chiropractic, hydrotherapy. I'd always recommend a consultation for dogs with diagnosed spinal or ligament conditions so we can build a complete protocol.
Best for dogs with:
- IVDD (intervertebral disc disease)
- Post-CCL or cruciate ligament injury or surgery
- Disc disease or spinal inflammation
- Ligament and tendon injuries
- Arthritis where circulation is a factor
- Dogs you're trying to reduce long-term NSAID reliance in
Always use alongside veterinary care for diagnosed structural conditions.
Created in collaboration with leading holistic veterinarian Dr. Steve Marsden, Voltrex is a powerful herbal formula designed for dogs facing serious mobility, ligament or spinal challenges. Instead of only masking pain, it supports the body’s ability to heal by promoting circulation to joints, ligaments and the spinal cord.
What makes Voltrex special
Designed for conditions such as arthritis, hip dysplasia, ligament injuries (e.g., cruciate tears) and spinal-cord issues like disc disease or paralysis.
Works by restoring normal blood flow to joints and ligaments — allowing tissue repair rather than just numbing pain.
Helps reduce reliance on long-term anti-inflammatory drugs, which often reduce circulation and hinder healing.
What pet‐parents often see
Dogs begin standing, moving or rising more easily within days to weeks
Reduced stiffness, dragging or reluctance to climb stairs or jump
Improved gait, posture and comfort even in cases of severe disc injury or ligament damage
Over time, as the body heals, the pet may require fewer pain medications and regain more natural movement

How to use it
Voltrex is a concentrated herbal extract in powder form. Best results happen when paired with a fresh-food diet (meats + vegetables) and supportive therapies (e.g., chiropractic care, acupuncture, PEMF).
Simply mix the powdered herbs into your dog’s meal or stir into broth.
Starting dose (twice daily):
| Dog’s Weight | Daily Amount (split into 2 doses) |
|---|---|
| Up to 7 kg | ⅛ tsp (≈ 0.6 mL) per dose |
| 7–18 kg | ¼ tsp (≈ 1.25 mL) per dose |
| 18–32 kg | ½ tsp (≈ 2.5 mL) per dose |
| 32–50 kg | ¾ tsp (≈ 3.75 mL) per dose |
| Over 50 kg | 1 tsp (≈ 5 mL) per dose |
For dogs who can’t get comfortable or are struggling with ligaments, joints or spinal support, Voltrex gives them a chance to heal rather than just survive. With consistent use and the right diet and therapies, your dog can enjoy better mobility, less pain and a stronger quality of life.
Lumbrex vs Voltrex – which one?
- Lumbrex = back, spine and nerve focus. Better for intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), sciatica, nerve impingement, chronic back stiffness, weakness in the hindquarters, and nerve-related pain. The formula has more herbs specifically targeted at spinal and nervous system circulation.-
- Voltrex = joints and ligaments focus. Better for cruciate injuries, hip dysplasia, shoulder and elbow joint issues, and post-surgical ligament recovery.
- For dogs with both spinal and joint issues, both can be used together – book a consultation and I can help you work out the right approach.
