Whole-bone calcium for dogs who can't eat the real thing

Meat is loaded with phosphorus but almost no calcium. Feed an all-meat diet without addressing that gap and you're setting your dog up for a mineral imbalance, bone included. Normally, whole raw bones sort this out. But not every dog can chew them safely.

That's where Replace-A-Bone comes in. It's made from 100% grass-fed, finished Australian beef bone, finely milled down to a powder. You get the same natural calcium-to-phosphorus ratio dogs would get from whole prey, just without the chewing.

Why whole bone over a synthetic supplement?

Calcium carbonate and other synthetic mineral salts do the job on paper, but they skip the natural co-factors and trace minerals that come packaged with real bone. Whole bone calcium (in its microcrystalline form) is gentler on digestion and closer to how dogs evolved to get their minerals in the first place.

When to reach for it:

  • Raw or gently cooked home-prepared meals that need calcium balancing
  • Dental issues, missing teeth, or recent dental surgery
  • Post-surgical or post-illness recovery, when the gut needs an easier ride
  • Senior dogs who've gone off bones or can't manage them anymore
  • Dogs with a history of tummy trouble around bone fragments

When you don't need it:
If you're feeding a complete commercial diet, a properly balanced base mix, or your dog eats whole raw bone regularly and comfortably, adding this on top can tip calcium too high. More isn't better here.

A note on puppies and pregnant dogs: this can be part of the picture, but calcium levels for growing large breeds especially need proper guidance. Please chat with us or your vet before dosing.

As always, this is a nutritional supplement, not a treatment for any condition. Always work with your vet or nutritionist for the right approach for your individual dog.
